Monsan's scientific interests include biocatalysis, biochemical and enzyme engineering. In 1984, Monsan took a leave from Academia and co-founded BioEurope, a startup company specialized in industrial biocatalysis. Monsan is presently Professor emeritus at INSA Toulouse.
