Peter Naigow

He was born in 1942 in Totota, Bong County.<ref name="histdict">{{cite book |last1=Dunn |first1=D. Elwood |title=Historical dictionary of Liberia: D. Elwood Dunn, Amos J. Beyan, Carl Patrick Burrowes |date=2001 |publisher=Scarecrow Press |location=Lanham, Md |isbn=978-0-8108-3876-5 |edition=2nd}}</ref> He got a journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and worked as a radio broadcaster.<ref name="histdict" /> He was a member of the special investigative committee on reform at the end of the Tolbert administration. He served as assistant minister of information from 1977 to 1980,<ref name="histdict" /> minister of labour<ref name="histdict" /> and in other positions in Samuel Doe's administration.

He was elected as Vice President on 19 April 1991 to the interim administration of Amos Sawyer.
