Perry Lynn Carter (born August 15, 1971) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 1994 NFL draft.[2] Carter played for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders in the NFL. He also played in the CFL for four seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos, Montreal Alouettes, and BC Lions while winning a Grey Cup championship with the Alouettes in 2002. He is the former assistant defensive backs coach for the Houston Texans.

Personal life

Carter and his wife, Nicole have two children, Bria and Perry Jr.[3] Bria was a four-year track and field letterwinner at Houston[4] and Perry Jr. plays as a wide receiver at Louisiana–Monroe[5] and Jacksonville State.[6]
