The lake is fed mainly by Paine River through the Nordenskjöld Lake, but it also receives the water from the outlet of ''Skottsberg Lake''.<ref name="sinia"/>
The water of Paine River feeding the Pehoé Lake have emerged from the Salto Grande waterfall.
