==Name== Pefaur Peninsula is named for Jaime E. Pefaur, a biologist from the University of Chile, who carried out studies of edaphic mesofauna in Antarctica aboard the ''Yelcho'' during the Chilean Antarctic Expedition of 1967–1968.
