===Pre-draft=== Coming out of UCLA, Perkins was projected to be a third to fourth-round draft pick by various draft analysts. He was rated as the seventh-best running back by NFLDraftScout.com.<ref>{{Cite web |title=*Paul Perkins, DS #7 RB, UCLA: 2016 NFL Draft |url=http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=124712&draftyear=2016&genpos=RB |access-date=December 8, 2016 |website=NFLDraftScout.com}}</ref> Perkins was invited to the NFL Combine but was unable to finish all the drills after suffering an injury to his hamstring while running his 40-yard dash. Scouts and analysts gave mostly positive reviews focused on his one-cut ability, quality vision, reliable hands, decisive gap selection, and willingness to pick up blitzes. He was also criticized for his lack of consistent play speed, limited route options, and smallish frame.<ref name="scout" /> {{nfl predraft | height ft = 5 | height in = 10+3/8 | weight = 208 | dash = 4.54 | ten split = 1.62 | twenty split = 2.69 | shuttle = | cone drill = | vertical = 32 | broad ft = 10 | broad in = 4 | bench = 19 | arm span = 31+5/8 | hand span = 9 | note = All values from NFL Combine<ref name="scout">{{Cite web |title=NFL Draft Profile: Paul Perkins |url=https://www.nfl.com/prospects/paul-perkins/32195045-5222-7681-78c6-eac7d46b0bc6 |access-date=December 8, 2016 |website=NFL.com}}</ref> }}
