The '''paradise drongo''' or '''ribbon-tailed drongo''' ('''''Dicrurus megarhynchus''''') is a species of bird in the family Dicruridae. It is endemic to New Ireland in the Bismarck Archipelago, Papua New Guinea. With a total length of {{convert|51|to|63|cm|in|abbr=on}} and body mass of {{convert|130|g|oz|abbr=on}}, this may be the largest species of drongo.<ref>Rocamora, G. and D. Yeatman-Berthelot (2020). ==Taxonomy== The paradise drongo was described by the French zoologists Jean Quoy and Joseph Gaimard in 1832 from a specimen that they believed had been collected in Dorey (now Manokwari) in New Guinea. They coined the binomial name, ''Edolius megarhynchus''.<ref>{{ cite book | last1=Quoy | first1=Jean | author1-link=Jean René Constant Quoy | last2=Gaimard | first2=Joseph Paul | author2-link=Joseph Paul Gaimard | editor-last=Dumont d'Urville | editor-first=Jules | editor-link=Jules Dumont d'Urville | year=1830 | title=Voyage de la corvette l'Astrolabe: exécuté par ordre du roi, pendant les années 1826-1827-1828-1829: Zoologie | volume=1 | language=fr | location=Paris | publisher=J.
