PNS Taimur is the second of four Chinese built Type 054A/P (Tughril-class) frigates ordered by the Pakistan Navy. The ship was launched on 29 January 2021 at the Hudong Zhonghua shipyard in Shanghai, China.[3] She was commissioned into service on 23 June 2022 in Shanghai.[4][5] She is a Pakistan-specific variant of Type 054A frigate and the most technologically sophisticated warships ever exported by China to date.[6][7] She conducted training exercises with the Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Cambodia on August 15 after Bangladesh denied the ship permission to dock at Chattogram Port.[8] In January 2026 she test fired a LY-80(N) missile.[9][10]On 13 April 2026 she arivved in Colombo to conduct execises with the Sri Lankan Navy along with PNS Aslat.[11]
