{{Short description|Long non-coding RNA}} In molecular biology, '''Prostate androgen-regulated transcript 1''' (non-protein coding), also known as '''PART1''' is a long non-coding RNA. In humans, the PART-1 gene is located on chromosome 5q12. It is highly expressed in the human prostate gland. Its expression in prostate cancer cells is increased in response to androgens. It has been suggested that this gene may play a role in prostate carcinogenesis.<ref name="pmid10706094">{{cite journal |vauthors=Lin B, White JT, Ferguson C, Bumgarner R, Friedman C, Trask B, etal | title=PART-1: a novel human prostate-specific, androgen-regulated gene that maps to chromosome 5q12. | journal=Cancer Res | year= 2000 | volume= 60 | issue= 4 | pages= 858–863 | pmid=10706094 }}</ref>
