==Taxonomy== ''Omoedus'' was first described by Tamerlan Thorell in 1881.<ref name=NMBE/><ref name=Thor1881/> In 2015, Junxia Zhang and Wayne Maddison synonymized ''Pystira'' with ''Omoedus'',<ref name=ZhanMadd15/> but this was rejected by rejected by Jerzy Prószyński in 2017,<ref name=Pros17/> and both genera are accepted by the World Spider Catalog {{As of|2020|August|lc=yes}}.<ref name=NMBE/><ref name=WSC_g4630/>
The genus is placed in the subfamily Salticinae, tribe Euophryini.<ref name=Madd20/>
