== Biography == Nuno Maulide was born in Lisbon in 1979, son of a couple of medical doctors who were born in Portuguese Africa.<ref name="nit.pt">{{Cite web |title=Nuno Maulide: o super cientista sorridente que está a apaixonar os portugueses |url=https://www.nit.pt/cultura/livros/nuno-maulide-o-super-cientista-sorridente-que-esta-a-apaixonar-os-portugueses |access-date=2023-09-05 |website=NiT |language=pt}}</ref> His father, Ibraimo Maulide, was born in the then territory of Portuguese Mozambique and his mother, Ermelinda Xavier Daniel Dias Maulide, was born in the then territory of Portuguese São Tomé and Príncipe. Nuno Maulide was raised in Lisbon, and after studies at the Instituto Superior Técnico in the same city and a master's degree in Molecular Chemistry at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, he underwent doctoral studies in the University of Louvain (UCLouvain) in Belgium.<ref>{{cite journal|title=Nuno Maulide| doi=10.1002/anie.201402747|volume=53|issue = 31|journal=Angewandte Chemie International Edition|page=7984|year = 2014}}</ref>

== Personal life == Maulide lives in Vienna with his wife, a pharmacologist.
