The population of Nova Mutum increased by 113.47% over a period of 10 years, and was the city that had the highest population increase of Mato Grosso (in the period 2000–2010). In 2010, there were 31,649 inhabitants, and in 2000, the municipality had 14,818 inhabitants. ==Climate== Nova Mutum has a typical Mato Grosso tropical savanna climate (Köppen ''Aw'').
