Its native range is Tanzania to s. Africa and Madagascar. It is also found in the Cape Provinces, KwaZulu-Natal, the Northern Provinces (regions of South Africa), Malawi, Mozambique, Eswatini and Zimbabwe.<ref name="POWO" />
