The weapon system used 70mm (2.75 inch) rockets as projectile. The rocket used is produced by IPTN under license from Belgium.

The system can fire 40 rockets from launcher tubes in a single, ripple, or salvo modes with an interval of 0.1 to 9.9 seconds for each rocket. The system is capable of devastating an area of {{convert|200|x|300|m|abbr=on}} in a salvo. Maximum range is only about {{convert|6|km|abbr=on}} for rockets with MK-40 motor, but can be increased to {{convert|8|km|abbr=on}} by using rockets with FZ-68 motor.<ref>{{Cite web|title=NDL-40|url=https://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/ndl-40.htm|last=Pike|first=John|date=29 September 1999|website=Federation of American Scientists|archive-url=|archive-date=|access-date=12 May 2020}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web|title=Rocket Multi Launcher NDL-40|url=https://www.kkip.go.id/project/5/|last=|first=|date=8 September 2018|website=Komite Kebijakan Industri Pertahanan|archive-url=|archive-date=|access-date=12 May 2020}}</ref>
