During Qing rule, the area belonged to {{Ill|Tamsui Prefecture|zh|淡水廳}}. After 1920, during Japanese rule, the area belonged to both {{nihongo||內湖|Naiko}} and {{nihongo4||坡內坑|}} of {{nihongo4|Shinkō Village|深坑庄}} of Bunsan District, Taihoku Prefecture (modern-day Shenkeng District and Neihu District).
