=== Development === Ram Kumar had shot about 10 short films for the reality series ''Naalaya Iyakkunar'', including ''Mundasupatti'' (2011). When ''Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi'' (2012), based on a short film released, he said he was inspired to make his own film. He took a year off to work on the script and to select his actors.
