[[File:Mitchell Point, Oregon.jpg|right|thumb|340px|Mitchell Point as seen from I-84]] '''Mitchell Point''' is a cape in the Columbia River Gorge in Hood River County, Oregon, United States.<ref name=GNIS>{{cite gnis |id= 1124268 |name= Mitchell Point |entrydate= 1980-11-28 |accessdate= 2011-01-17 }}</ref>

Little is known about the man named Mitchell for whom the point was named.<ref name=OGN>{{Cite OGN|7th|page=652}}</ref> He was believed to be a trapper who lived and died in the area.<ref name=OGN/> There have been some efforts to rename the point Storm Crest, but they have not been successful.<ref name=OGN/>

The now-demolished Mitchell Point Tunnel on the Historic Columbia River Highway was bored through the point, which is a cliff that overhangs the Columbia River.<ref name=EndTrail>{{cite book |url= https://archive.org/details/oregonendoftrail00writrich |title= Oregon: End of the Trail |author= Writers' Program of the Work Projects Administration in the State of Oregon |series= American Guide Series |year= 1940 |publisher= Binfords & Mort |location= Portland, Oregon |page= [https://archive.org/details/oregonendoftrail00writrich/page/270 270] |oclc= 4874569}}</ref> The part of the rock through which the tunnel passed was known to the local Native Americans as Little Storm King, and the larger mountain above that point was known as Great Storm King.<ref name=EndTrail/>
