The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Western text-type in Acts of the Apostles.<ref>David Alan Black, ''New Testament Textual Criticism'', Baker Books, 2006, p. 65.</ref> In rest of books it represents the Alexandrian text-type.

== History ==

The manuscript was examined by Wettstein, Gaisford, Scholz, and Pott. Codex 58<sup>a</sup> of Wettstein is the same as 22<sup>a</sup>.<ref name = Scrivener/> C. R. Gregory saw it in 1883.{{r|Gregory}}

The manuscript was added to the list of the New Testament manuscripts by Scholz (1794–1852).<ref>{{Cite book | last = Scrivener | first = Frederick Henry Ambrose | author-link = Frederick Henry Ambrose Scrivener | title = A Plain Introduction to the Criticism of the New Testament | publisher = George Bell & Sons | year = 1894 | location = London | volume = 1 | page = 322 }}</ref>

Formerly it was labelled by 58<sup>a</sup> and 224<sup>p</sup>.<ref name = Gregory/> In 1908 Gregory gave the number 383 to it.{{r|Gregory1908}}
