In June 2016, Perry filed a complaint with the Michigan Department of Civil Rights seeking the closure of Michigan State University's Women's Lounge, alleging that having a private place for women to study on campus discriminated against men, and was a violation of civil rights.<ref name="LSJ" /> He claimed the female only facility was a violation of both the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative and the equal opportunity in education act Title IX. In July 2016, Michigan State University made the lounge a gender-neutral space to ensure compliance with Title IX.<ref>{{Cite news|url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/07/28/a-male-professor-says-this-women-only-study-lounge-is-sexist-and-illegal/|title=A male professor said this women-only study lounge is sexist and ille…|newspaper=The Washington Post |access-date=2022-06-02|archive-date=2016-08-02|archive-url=https://archive.today/20160802023713/https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/07/28/a-male-professor-says-this-women-only-study-lounge-is-sexist-and-illegal/|url-status=live}}</ref>

He criticised Obama's policies of demand market stimulation like the proposal of subsidizing electric and hybrid cars' sector, both for producers and consumers.
