Margit Papp

She competed in the Summer Olympic Games in 1972, 1976 and 1980 and won the gold medal in women's pentathlon at the 1978 European Championships.

==Career== Papp first competed in the European Championships in Budapest 1966 as an 18-year-old, placing 18th in the pentathlon.<ref name="tp">{{tilastopaja|id=42128|sex=w}}</ref> She made her Olympic debut in Munich in 1972, finishing 23rd with 4074 points.<ref name="tp"/><ref name="sr">{{cite web |url=https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/pa/margit-papp-1.html |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200418092859/https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/pa/margit-papp-1.html |url-status=dead |archive-date=18 April 2020 |title=Margit Papp Bio, Stats and Results |accessdate=30 April 2014 |publisher=Sports Reference LLC}}</ref> Four years later in Montréal she scored 4535 points and placed 8th.<ref name="sr"/>
