The inhabitants of an old Native American settlement called "Fisherman's" later shipped [[seafood]] from here via [[railroad]].<ref name=CGN /> Then, in 1913, the [[Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company of America|Marconi Wireless Company]] bought this site to establish a transpacific [[wireless telegraph]] station.<ref name=CGN /> The site was taken over by the federal government, who eventually released it to [[General Electric]] ownership.<ref name=SFC>{{cite news |last=Vainshtein |first=Annie |date=25 Mar 2023 |title=This coastal Bay Area retreat once housed a cult.
