Its native range is Tropical Africa and Madagascar. It is found in the countries of Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zaïre.<ref name="POWO" />
