The early-ripening grape is a cross between [[Madeleine Royale]] and [[Malingre Précoce]] grapes that grows well in cooler climates. Madeleine Angevine makes an attractive fruity wine with a flowery nose, similar to an [[Alsace wine|Alsatian]] [[Pinot blanc]].
