== History == The ship was built by Stocznia Szczecinska im A Warskiego in Szczecin, Poland in 1981 and operated as '''''Konstantin Simonov''''' in the Baltic Sea from construction, undergoing a refit in 1988. From 1996 to 2001, the ship operated as '''''Francesca''''' in the Mediterranean Sea. Until 2010, the ship was owned by Israeli ''Mano Cruise'' (after a refit in 2001) and operated in the eastern Mediterranean Sea under the name '''''The Iris''''', during which time she was registered in Malta.
The ship was refitted again and joined Kristina Cruises as '''''Kristina Katarina''''' in late 2010, taking over as flagship from the much smaller ''Kristina Regina''.<ref name="kreuzfahrt.bunge-web.com">{{cite web |url=http://www.kreuzfahrt.bunge-web.com/kristinakatarina.htm |title=Kristina Katarina |author= |date= |publisher=kreuzfahrt.bunge-web.com |accessdate=13 March 2010 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110708104230/http://www.kreuzfahrt.bunge-web.com/kristinakatarina.htm |archive-date=8 July 2011 |url-status=dead }} '''(German)'''</ref><ref name="TW">{{cite web |url=http://www.transportweekly.com/pages/en/news/articles/68040/ |title=Kristina Cruises shipping company to acquire a new flagship |author= |date=18 December 2009 |publisher=Transport Weekly |accessdate=13 March 2010}}</ref><ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.kristinacruises.com/index.php?a=laivat&s=188 |title=M/S Kristina Katarina / Introduction |author= |date= |publisher=Kristina Cruises |accessdate=13 March 2010}}</ref> On 8 January 2014,<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/kristina_cruises_lays_off_150_sells_ship/7020253|title=Kristina Cruises lays off 150, sells ship|website=Yle Uutiset|date=8 January 2014 }}</ref> the ship was sold and renamed '''''Ocean Endeavour''''' with a capacity of 199 passengers.<ref name=peregrine>{{Cite web|url=https://www.peregrineadventures.com/en-au/ocean-endeavour|title=Ocean Endeavour overview|last=|first=|date=|website=Peregrine Adventures|language=en-au|url-status=live|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191019033544/https://www.peregrineadventures.com/en-au/ocean-endeavour|archive-date=2019-10-19|access-date=2019-10-19}}</ref>

== Wreck of the ''Erebus'' visit == On 5 September 2019, passengers of Adventure Canada on ''Ocean Endeavour'' were the first members of the public to visit the site of the wreck of HMS ''Erebus'', one of the two ships of the ill-fated Franklin expedition which aimed to traverse the North-West Passage through the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.<ref name=":0">{{Cite web|url=https://www.vancourier.com/living/northwest-passage-cruise-stops-to-see-franklin-s-shipwrecked-erebus-1.23945719|title=Northwest Passage cruise stops to see Franklin's shipwrecked Erebus|last=Bain|first=Jennifer|website=Vancouver Courier|access-date=2019-10-04}}</ref>
