'''Luke Davico''' (born 16 May 1973) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer of Italian descent.<ref>{{cite news|publisher=The Catholic Weekly (Australia)|title=Curtain-raiser proposal for rugby league minnows|author=Damir Govorcin|url=http://www.catholicweekly.com.au/article.php?classID=3&subclassID=27&articleID=2167&class=Features&subclass=Sport|access-date=3 January 2010|date=30 July 2006|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20091007140624/http://www.catholicweekly.com.au/article.php?classID=3&subclassID=27&articleID=2167&class=Features&subclass=Sport|archive-date=7 October 2009 }}</ref> He previously played for the Canberra Raiders (where he was named the club's rookie of the year in 1995) and the Newcastle Knights.
==Background== Davico was born in Gosford, New South Wales.
==Playing career== Davico made his first-grade debut two days before his 21st birthday in round ten of the 1994 season. He started from the bench in a match against the St. George Dragons.
After eleven seasons with the Canberra Raiders, Davico signed a contract with English Super League club, Wigan Warriors. A torn pectoral muscle during a match in August, 2004, prematurely ended his time with the Canberra club. Davico then re-injured the muscle five minutes into a pre-season match for Wigan in January, 2005.<ref>{{cite news|publisher=BBC|title=Davico injury fear for Warriors|url=https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_league/super_league/wigan/4207699.stm|access-date=2008-05-09|date=2005-01-25}}</ref>
Davico returned to Australia without having played a first-grade game for Wigan. In 2006, Davico signed a two-year contract with the Newcastle Knights.<ref>{{cite news|publisher=ABC News|title=Davico joins the Knights|url=http://www.abc.net.au/sport/content/200507/s1405176.htm|access-date=2008-05-09|date=2005-07-01}} {{Dead link|date=October 2010|bot=H3llBot}}</ref> Following seventeen appearances from the bench in 2006 and only one in 2007, Davico retired mid-season.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.newcastleknights.com.au/about/club-history/official-debut-numbers/|title=OFFICIAL DEBUT NUMBERS|website=Newcastle Knights}}</ref>
