==Taxonomy and systematics== The family name is a tribute to Japanese cnidariologist Kamakichi Kishinouye. Mayer used the synonym ''Kishinouyea'' as a replacement name of ''Schizodiscus'', for homonymy, as the name was already used to describe a lichen genus.
