She finished second on the women's 1500 metres event at the 2013 World Single Distance Championships.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://live.isuresults.eu/2012-2013/sochi/r1414.htm |title=Essent ISU World Single Distances Championships 2013 Result 1500m Ladies |date=22 March 2013 |access-date=24 March 2013 |work=live.isuresults.eu}}</ref> At the 2014 Winter Olympics, she was part of the Dutch team who won a gold medal on the women team pursuit; she also won a bronze medal on the women's 1500 metres. At the 2018 European Single Distance Speed Skating Championships, she won a gold medal on the women's 1500 metres and another with the Dutch women pursuit team.

At the 2018 Winter Olympics, she was part of the Dutch women pursuit team who won a silver medal.
