'''Logan Bailly''' (born 27 December 1985) is a Belgian retired professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Having started his career at Genk, Bailly has had spells at German Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach, Scottish Premiership club Celtic and Belgian Pro League side Oud-Heverlee Leuven. In March 2021 he announced to have signed with Bressoux playing in the Belgian Provincial Leagues, but early August of that same year he instead retired and became goalkeeper manager at FC Differdange 03.<ref>{{cite web |url=https://www.dhnet.be/sports/sport-regional/liege/officiel-logan-bailly-met-un-terme-a-sa-carriere-de-gardien-de-but-611658b49978e248b3c34b61 |website=dhnet.be |title=Officiel: Logan Bailly met un terme à sa carrière de gardien de but |trans-title=Official: Logan Bailly ends career as goalkeeper |language=fr |date=14 August 2021 |accessdate=14 August 2021}}</ref> He became goalkeeper manager at Virton, but due to several injured goalkeepers he suddenly appeared in the three final matches of the 2023–2024 season. The following season he remained third goalkeeper and would go on to make four more appearances, after now officially retiring at 39 years of age in May of 2025.<ref>https://www.facebook.com/share/r/16MTdZUEPw/</ref>
==Club career== ===Genk=== Bailly began his senior career at Genk in 2002 but was loaned out to Beringen-Heusden-Zolder for the duration of the 2003–04 season, along with ten other Genk players.<ref>{{cite web |url=https://www.uefa.com/news-media/news/0192-0f8e9a79ba67-f09ef60aa307-1000--heusden-zolder-sign-genk-eleven/ |publisher=UEFA |title=Heusden-Zolder sign Genk eleven |date=16 June 2003 |access-date=26 December 2010}}</ref> Bailly replaced Jan Moons as Genk's first-choice goalkeeper at the beginning of the 2006–07 season; he played 90 minutes in every single Belgian League match for the club that season. He kept 14 clean sheets and received no bookings.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://football.stats.com/belg/players.asp?player=42345 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20070927224819/http://football.stats.com/belg/players.asp?player=42345 |url-status=dead |archive-date=27 September 2007 |title=Belgian League stats |website=football.stats.com |accessdate=22 March 2010 }}</ref> His good performance contributed to Genk's surprising second-place finish.
===Borussia Mönchengladbach=== He joined Borussia Mönchengladbach during the winter of season 2008–09 and immediately adapted to the Bundesliga. He was elected best player of gameday 20 in the league.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.bundesliga.de/de/liga/news/2008/index.php?f=0000119725.php |title=Bailly erobert die Herzen der Fans im Sturm |trans-title=Bailly takes the supporters' hearts by storm |accessdate=22 March 2010 |date=18 February 2009 |language=German |website=bundesliga.de}}</ref>
During the 2011–12 season he was initially loaned out to Swiss side Neuchâtel Xamax, for whom he only appeared once in a cup match against Chur 97.<ref name="sway">{{cite web|title=L. Bailly|url=https://int.soccerway.com/players/logan-bailly/9911/|website=Soccerway|accessdate=9 July 2015}}</ref> In the second part of the season, he was loaned back to Genk. After the season, he returned to Mönchengladbach where his contract was not renewed, allowing him to sign as a free agent player for OH Leuven.
===Leuven=== At OHL, he was rejoined with coach Ronny Van Geneugden, who was his coach during his period as a youth player at Genk. After a series of good performances, Bailly was rewarded on 2 December with a one-year extension, giving him a contract until the end of the 2013–14 season.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.sporza.be/permalink/1.1495563 |title=Bailly verlengt zijn contract bij OHL |trans-title=Bailly extends contract with OHL |accessdate=3 December 2012 |date=2 December 2012 |language=Dutch |website=sporza.be}}</ref>
===Celtic=== In July 2015, Bailly moved to Scottish club Celtic for an undisclosed transfer fee.<ref>{{cite web |url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33418455 |title=Celtic: Keeper Logan Bailly agrees Glasgow switch, say OH Leuven |publisher=BBC Sport |date=6 July 2015 |access-date=6 July 2015}}</ref><ref>{{cite web|title=Celtic sign Belgian goalkeeper Logan Bailly|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33449946|publisher=BBC Sport|access-date=8 July 2015|date=8 July 2015}}</ref> He made his debut on 18 July 2015 in a pre-season friendly against SD Eibar and saved a penalty kick from Dani Nieto during a 4–1 win for Celtic.<ref>{{cite web|last1=Waddell|first1=Gordon|title=Celtic keeper Logan Bailly a reformed man: My wild days are behind me – and there's no room for a child seat in a Ferrari|url=http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-keeper-logan-bailly-reformed-6098186|website=Daily Record|accessdate=20 July 2015|date=20 July 2015}}</ref> He began the season as second choice to Craig Gordon, but made his competitive debut in the Scottish League on 22 August 2015 in a 3–1 win away at Dundee United.<ref>{{cite web|last=Moffat|first=Colin|title=Dundee Utd 1 – 3 Celtic|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33944644|publisher=BBC Sport|access-date=22 August 2015|date=22 August 2014}}</ref> Bailly's next appearance was in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on 10 January 2016, deputising for the suspended Craig Gordon. He had little to do as Celtic eased to a comfortable 3–0 win over lower league Stranraer, and his only save came with 12 minutes remaining when he saved a Craig Malcolm header.<ref>{{cite news|last=McFaulds|first=Charlie|title=Stranraer 0–3 Celtic: Celtic ease to Scottish Cup win|url=http://www.skysports.com/football/stranraer-vs-celtic/352408|accessdate=13 January 2016|publisher=Sky Sports|date=11 January 2016}}</ref><ref>{{cite news|title=Match report: Stranraer 0 Celtic 3|url=http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/match-report-stranraer-0-celtic-3/|accessdate=13 January 2016|work=CQN Magazine|date=10 January 2016}}</ref>
