On March 11, 1993, Li Jiajue submitted a report to the National Press and Publication Administration. On November 29, 1994, the administration sanctioned the formation of Local Chronicles Publishing House. Local Chronicles Publishing House was officially established in 1995 under the National Local Gazetteers Leadership Group ({{lang-zh|中国地方志领导小组}}).
