In March 2010 Salander pleaded guilty to 29 felony counts of grand larceny and was sentenced to six to eighteen years in prison. He admitted to selling dozens of pieces that he was supposed to hold without permission. In August 2010, Salander was sentenced to 6 to 18 years in prison for his crimes and was scheduled to serve his time at Midstate Correctional Facility, north of Utica, New York.
According to the website of the New York State Deptartment of Corrections and Community Supervision, his March 2015 parole hearing was denied.
