He was born in Ixelles.<ref name="Académie royale"/> He was a professor and dean (1906–1907) of the faculty of sciences at the Université libre de Bruxelles.<ref name="Académie royale"/><ref name="Beolens et al. 2013"/> An active member of the Royal Belgian Entomological Society, he was the author of numerous articles, notably on Coleoptera and the famous ''Manuel de la Faune de Belgique'' which had a great influence on the entomologists of his country.<ref name="Académie royale"/>

Frog ''Arthroleptis lameerei'', also known as Lameere's squeaker, is named after him.<ref name="Beolens et al. 2013"/>
