'''Lake Minto''' ({{langx|iu|Qasigialik}}, "where there are spotted seals") is a lake on western Ungava Peninsula, Nunavik, Quebec, Canada. It has a total surface area of {{convert|761|km2}} and a net area of {{convert|703|km2}}.<ref name=Atlas>Natural Resources Canada, Atlas of Canada - [http://atlas.nrcan.gc.ca/site/english/learningresources/facts/lakes.html Lakes] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20070410230512/http://atlas.nrcan.gc.ca/site/english/learningresources/facts/lakes.html |date=2007-04-10 }}</ref>
It was named by Canadian explorer and geologist Albert Peter Low in 1898 after Gilbert Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto, who was Governor General of Canada at that time.<ref name=toponymie>{{cite web |url=http://www.toponymie.gouv.qc.ca/ct/ToposWeb/fiche.aspx?no_seq=41389 |title=Lac Minto |publisher=Commission de toponymie du Québec |accessdate=2010-12-13 |language=French}}</ref>
It is only some {{convert|60|km}} east of Hudson Bay in a valley between several rows of hills, but Lake Minto's outlet, the Leaf River, flows north-east for about {{convert|265|km}} to Ungava Bay. As such, it is used by canoeists especially when crossing Ungava from west to east.<ref name=toponymie/><ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.bassioutdoors.com/NUCE.html |title=Northern Ungava Canoe Expedition |accessdate=2011-05-21 |url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080719004515/http://www.bassioutdoors.com/NUCE.html |archive-date=2008-07-19 }} Northern Ungava Canoe Expedition</ref><ref>http://www.nrsweb.com/services/newsletter/2007/rtnStory_0207b.asp Crossing the Ungava</ref>
