The lake is surrounded by alpine meadows and peaks over {{convert|3000|m|ft}} high. It is situated at the height of {{convert|1790|m|ft}} above mean sea level, stretching for {{convert|4.67|km|mi}} from north to south.<ref name=":0" /> The lake area is {{convert|3|km2|sqmi}}. It is up to {{convert|54.8|m}} deep. The lake is popular with tourists and holds a stock of grayling.
