'''Lady Mountain''' (previously known as '''Cliff Dwelling Mountain''') is a {{convert|6945|ft|m|adj=on}} elevation Navajo Sandstone summit located in Zion National Park, in Washington County of southwest Utah, United States.<ref name="gnis">{{gnis|1429408|Lady Mountain}}</ref>
==Description== Lady Mountain is situated immediately west of Zion Lodge, towering over {{convert|2,700|ft|m|abbr=off|sp=us}} above the lodge and the floor of Zion Canyon. It is set on the west side of the North Fork Virgin River which drains precipitation runoff from this mountain. Its neighbors include Mount Majestic, Cathedral Mountain, The Great White Throne, Red Arch Mountain, Mountain of the Sun, Mount Moroni, Castle Dome, and The Sentinel. This feature was called "Cliff Dwelling Mountain" and "Mount Zion" before the Lady Mountain name was officially adopted in 1934 by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names.<ref name="gnis"/> It is so named for markings of which early visitors saw a resemblance to a lady's face. In 1925 the park service constructed a climbing "trail" with cables and ladders to the summit, one of the first in the park, but it was later deconstructed due to numerous rescues and fatalities.<ref>James Kaiser, ''Zion: The Complete Guide'', 1st Edition, 2019, Destination Press, {{ISBN|978-1940754-40-6}}</ref>
==Climate== Spring and fall are the most favorable seasons to visit Lady Mountain. According to the Köppen climate classification system, it is located in a Cold semi-arid climate zone, which is defined by the coldest month having an average mean temperature below {{convert|32|°F|°C|abbr=on}}, and at least 50% of the total annual precipitation being received during the spring and summer. This desert climate receives less than {{convert|10|in|mm|abbr=off|sp=us}} of annual rainfall, and snowfall is generally light during the winter.<ref name="Weather Atlas">{{cite web|url=https://www.weather-us.com/en/utah-usa/zion-national-park-climate |title=Zion National Park, Utah, USA - Monthly weather forecast and Climate data |publisher=Weather Atlas |access-date=31 August 2020 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190127152638/https://www.weather-us.com/en/utah-usa/zion-national-park-climate |archive-date=January 27, 2019|url-status=live}}</ref>
