'''LIV''' is a nightclub with two locations in the United States, '''LIV Miami''', located inside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and its sister club, '''LIV Las Vegas''', located inside the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. First founded in 2008 in Miami Beach by David Grutman, the club attained its name from the Roman numerals for the number 54, named for the opening year of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, as well as being a reference to Studio 54, which Grutman has compared the club to.<ref name=":0">{{Cite web |last=Leibowitz |first=Aaron |date=2023-03-15 |title=LIV Miami vs. LIV Golf: Iconic nightclub wants to block golf group's trademarks |url=https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/miami-beach/article273168980.html |access-date=2024-08-29 |website=Miami Herald |archive-date=March 15, 2023 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230315222038/https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/miami-beach/article273168980.html |url-status=live}}</ref><ref name=":7">{{Cite web |date=2020-01-25 |title=Super Bowl 2020: Owner of Miami-based night club 'LIV' can't be more excited to have Super Bowl LIV local |url=https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/super-bowl-2020-owner-of-miami-based-night-club-liv-cant-be-more-excited-to-have-super-bowl-liv-local/ |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20241226160351/https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/super-bowl-2020-owner-of-miami-based-night-club-liv-cant-be-more-excited-to-have-super-bowl-liv-local/ |archive-date=December 26, 2024 |access-date=2025-07-07 |website=CBSSports.com |language=en}}</ref> LIV has become a celebrity hotspot with its hip hop programming "LIV on Sunday" in particular often being referenced in contemporary music and media.

In 2020, LIV Miami closed its doors when Miami-Dade County ordinances put into effect in response to the COVID-19 pandemic introduced limits to the club's operating capacity{{emdash}}cutting it by 50%{{emdash}}while mandating operating hours which required closure at midnight. In lieu of adhering to those restrictions, Grutman opted to close the club entirely, saying "We're going to open it when we can give the right experience". A peak in COVID cases to 15,000 newly confirmed infections per day also contributed to Grutman's choosing to keep the club closed during this time, saying he "didn't want to contribute to the spread".<ref>{{cite news |last=Kennedy |first=Kelli |agency=Associated Press |title=Glamorous Miami Club LIV Caught in Power Struggle Over the Coronavirus |url=https://www.tampabay.com/news/health/2020/10/19/glamorous-miami-club-liv-caught-in-power-struggle-over-the-coronavirus/ |work=Tampa Bay Times |date=October 19, 2020 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20201115024037/https://www.tampabay.com/news/health/2020/10/19/glamorous-miami-club-liv-caught-in-power-struggle-over-the-coronavirus/ |archive-date=November 15, 2020 |language=en}}</ref> In October 2021, the midnight curfew which had been the single most restrictive order persuading the club to stay closed was finally lifted.<ref>{{cite news |title=LIV Can Get Loud: Miami Beach Removes COVID-19 Noise Limit Ahead of Club's Reopening |last=Vassolo |first=Martin |newspaper=Miami Herald |date=April 15, 2021 |url=https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/miami-beach/article250670179.html |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210414233258/https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/miami-beach/article250670179.html |archive-date=April 14, 2021}}</ref>
