== Early life and background == Kuldeep Kumar was born and raised in a 200-sq-ft house in Mandawali, East Delhi. His father, Sri Prakash, worked as a sanitation worker (safai karmachari) and a rickshaw puller. Coming from a humble background, Kumar began his social work at the age of 18 and founded the "Ambedkar Andolan" to promote education among Dalit youth.
