'''Kim Shuck''' is a Cherokee Nation poet, author, weaver, and bead work artist who draws from Southeastern Native American culture and tradition as well as contemporary urban Indian life.<ref name=":0">{{Cite book|title=Art/Women/California 1950-2000|last=Burgess Fuller|first=Diane|publisher=UC Press|year=2002|isbn=9780520230668|location=Berkeley/Los Angeles/London|pages=[https://archive.org/details/artwomencaliforn00full/page/156 156]|url=https://archive.org/details/artwomencaliforn00full/page/156}}</ref> She was born in San Francisco, California and belongs to the northern California Cherokee diaspora. On June 21, 2017, Mayor Ed Lee named Shuck as the 7th poet laureate of San Francisco.
