A native of Alençon, Lisch studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and was pupil of Léon Vaudoyer and Henri Labrouste. His architectural career was geared towards civic work: stations, public buildings, churches, and restoration of monuments.<ref name="r1"/><ref name="r2"/> He built the Gare des Carbonnets, a train station in a Paris suburb.<ref name="r2"/>
Juste Lisch retired in 1901 and died in Paris in 1910.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.musee-orsay.fr/en/artworks/statue-de-femme-en-italie-105961|title=Statue de femme en Italie - Juste Lisch | Musée d'Orsay|website=www.musee-orsay.fr}}</ref> He is buried in the Rouen monumental cemetery.<ref name="r1"/>
