Kury served two years of suspension due to a doping, losing the chance to swim the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.<ref name=bestswimming/> She won a gold medal in the 4×100-metre freestyle relay and bronze medals in the 50-metre freestyle and 200-metre backstroke at the 2008 South American Championship. She won a bronze medal in the 100-metre individual medley at the 2007 World Cup in Belo Horizonte.<ref name=bestswimming/>
