==Biography== Woyee was born in Greenville, Sinoe County, to a teacher and a medical office worker.<ref name=umn>{{cite web|url= http://www.cla.umn.edu/twocities/rprojs/liberian/joe.asp|title= Joe Woyee|accessdate= 2007-04-05|work= College of Liberal Arts website|publisher= University of Minnesota|archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20060717181525/http://cla.umn.edu/twocities/rprojs/liberian/joe.asp|archive-date= 2006-07-17|url-status= dead}}</ref> After his family moved to the capital Monrovia, Woyee helped establish "The Children of the Green Acres," one of the first bands that played Liberian-style music as opposed to U.S. pop music.
