'''James Forsyth''' (born 23 July 1944) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also played with West Torrens in the South Australian National Football League.
Forsyth began his career at Essendon, where he arrived to from Thorpdale.<ref name=Ency>{{cite book|last1=Holmesby|first1=Russell|last2=Main|first2=Jim|title=The Encyclopedia of AFL Footballers| publisher=BAS Publishing|year=2007|isbn=9781920910785}}</ref> A ruckman, he struggled to get regular games with the strong Essendon side of the 1960s but did take part in their 1966 finals campaign.<ref name=Ency/><ref>{{cite web|url=http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/J/Jim_Forsyth.html| title=Jim Forsyth| publisher=AFL Tables}}</ref> He went to West Torrens in 1968 and the same year represented South Australia in an interstate match against Western Australia.<ref name=AustralianFootball>{{cite web|url=https://australianfootball.com/players/player/jim+forsyth/9477| title=Jim Forsyth| publisher=Australian football.com}}</ref> Forsyth was also a member of the South Australian interstate squad for the 1969 Adelaide Carnival, although he didn't get a game.<ref name=AustralianFootball/>
