== History == The constituency was created in 1984 from the Bakerganj-12 constituency when the former [[Backergunge District|Bakerganj District]] was split into four districts: [[Bhola District|Bhola]], [[Barisal District|Bakerganj]], [[Jhalokati District|Jhalokati]], and [[Pirojpur District|Pirojpur]].
