He appeared in over 80 films and television shows since 1968. He starred in the 1969 film ''Ballad of Carl-Henning'', which was entered into the 19th Berlin International Film Festival. From 1970 to 2006 he was married to Lykke Nielsen, they have a son Sebastian. Lykke died in 2006. Jesper Klein died on 22 August 2011, after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 66.
