==Ordained ministry== Longmuir was ordained to Swinton Parish in 1934 where he served until 1952. During World War II, he served with the Royal Army Chaplains' Department and was awarded the Territorial Decoration.<ref>{{London Gazette|issue=44837|page=4481|date=29 April 1969}}</ref> After that he was Minister at Chirnside.
