==Early life== Chekhovich was born in Yekaterinburg. He played major junior hockey in North America with Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Chekhovich was re-assigned by the Sharks to continue his season with AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, on 12 March 2021. On 23 May 2022, Chekhovich left Torpedo as he was traded to fellow KHL club Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, in exchange for prospects and financial compensation.
