Becerra played college soccer at Los Angeles Mission College from 2002 to 2003, scoring 34 goals and 19 assists during his two seasons there. He then transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he played two seasons for the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's soccer team. Becerra signed for Ventura County Fusion of the USL Premier Development League for the 2009 season.
