In October 2009, Osbourne was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rob whilst training at Aston Villa's Bodymoor Heath Training Complex.<ref>{{cite news|title=Aston Villa star Isaiah Osbourne is arrested|url=https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/local-news/aston-villa-star-isaiah-osbourne-105124|work=Birmingham Mail|date=6 October 2009|access-date=16 April 2021}}</ref> No charges were ever brought against him.<ref>{{cite news|title=Aston Villa star Isaiah Osbourne in the clear after West Midlands Police investigation|url=https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/local-news/aston-villa-star-isaiah-osbourne-116327|work=Birmingham Mail|date=11 January 2010|access-date=16 April 2021}}</ref> Osbourne says that the arrest was as a result of a Mercedes Benz which he had tried to sell on Auto Trader – which a group of men had attempted to purchase with counterfeit money. Despite nothing ever coming of the arrest, Osbourne considers it something that has had a negative effect on his footballing career and later described his move to the SPL was partly down to a need to "get away from it all".<ref>{{cite news |last1=Madeley |first1=Pete |title=Isaiah Osbourne fighting back after Aston Villa training ground arrest |url=https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/2018/08/03/oz-fighting-back-after-training-ground-arrest/ |access-date=3 August 2018 |work=Express & Star |date=3 August 2018}}</ref>
