'''The Inclusive Development Index''' ('''IDI''') is an annual economic index introduced by the World Economic Forum System Initiative on Shaping the Future of Economic Progress in 2017. The IDI ranks countries' economic performance in three pillars: growth and development, inclusion, and intergenerational equity and sustainability.<ref>{{cite web |title=WEF – The Inclusive Development Index 2018 |url=https://etradeforall.org/wef-inclusive-development-index-2018/ |website=eTrade for all |accessdate=12 August 2020 }}{{Dead link|date=September 2024 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}</ref> This initiative aims to inform and enable sustained and inclusive economic progress through deepened public-private cooperation through thought leadership and analysis, strategic dialogue and concrete cooperation, including the acceleration of social impact through corporate action.
In the IDI, countries are given a score from 1 to 7. The greater inclusivity, the higher the score. According to 2018 IDI, the leading economy is Norway, with 6.08, followed by Iceland (6.07) and Luxembourg (also 6.07).<ref>{{cite web |last1=Duffin |first1=Erin |title=Leading advanced economies according to the Inclusive Development Index in 2018 |url=https://www.statista.com/statistics/686323/inclusive-development-index-advanced-economies/ |website=Statista |accessdate=12 August 2020}}</ref>
Unlike the gross domestic product (GDP), the IDI measures "...the level and rate of improvement in ''shared'' socioeconomic progress".<ref>{{cite book |title=The Inclusive Development Index 2018-Summary and Data Highlights |date=2018 |publisher=World Economic Forum |location=Cologny/Geneva Switzerland |page=2 |url=http://www3.weforum.org/docs/WEF_Forum_IncGrwth_2018.pdf |accessdate=12 August 2020}}</ref>
