Born in Jamaica in 1964,<ref name="CAP" /> Howard Johnson first played for the US in the 2002 Americas Championship in Buenos Aires.<ref name="OthM" /> He made his List A debut in 2004 when he played in the ICC 6 Nations Challenge in the United Arab Emirates<ref name="LAM">[http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Players/62/62804/List_A_Matches.html List A matches played by Howard Johnson] at CricketArchive</ref> and his first-class debut later in the year when he played in the ICC Intercontinental Cup against Canada and Bermuda.<ref>[http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Players/62/62804/First-Class_Matches.html First-class matches played by Howard Johnson] at CricketArchive</ref>

He last played for the US in the 2005 ICC Trophy<ref name="Teams" /> in Ireland. After playing a warm-up game against Namibia<ref name="OthM" /> he played three matches in the tournament proper, against the UAE, Bermuda and Oman.
