The locality is about {{convert|9|km}} south-east of the town of [[Burnie, Tasmania|Burnie]]. The [[2021 Australian census|2021 census]] recorded a population of 339 for the state suburb of Heybridge. It is a village located where the [[Bass Highway (Tasmania)|Bass Highway]] crosses the [[Blythe River (Tasmania)|Blythe River]], and is bounded by the Blythe River National Park to the south and [[Bass Strait]] to the north.

Blythe Heads Post Office opened in 1947 and was renamed Heybridge in 1966. ==Geography== The shore of Bass Strait forms most of the northern boundary.
